The 2024 IEEE Digital Education and MOOCs Conference took place from October 16-18 at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA, USA. This year marked a significant milestone as we expanded the conference’s focus beyond MOOCs to broader aspects of digital education, resulting in a name change from LWMOOCs to DEMOcon. This was an exciting development for the 10th anniversary of our conference.
The event kicked off on October 16 with our General Chair, David Joyner, leading attendees on a tour of the Georgia Tech campus. The program featured a variety of presentations from both academia and industry, highlighting diverse perspectives. This year, we hosted two panels—“Education Across Borders” and “AI + Education”—along with a workshop titled “Empowering Education: Build Your Own Educational Chatbot.” Additionally, our two keynote speakers, Brian Magerko and Marti Hearst, delivered inspiring presentations that resonated with the audience.
